I popped about 50 a day (so roughly 1500/month) for the last few months. Thanks to the early server problems yesterday I ended up with about a dozen strays, but still managed to pop about 100 yesterday. My last Abaddon fell to Amarr guns (I don't normally resort to that, I've always considered it TOO cheesy) with less than a minute to go before shutdown.
I tried to enlist some help when it became clear that I wouldn't quite make it, but nobody wanted to earn 36M ISK/hr + salvage. Apparently mining for 10M ISK/hr (probably less after minerals collapse today) was more appealing.
I hope whatever the 'grind' is in Tyrannis that it's not as horrible (even PvE is better than this) from a gameplay perspective.

I blew up mostly Apocs. They didn't have the highest profit/ship but they had the highest profit/unit of minerals and their BPC tended to be cheaper than Rokhs or Abaddons. They also dropped nice salvage. Unfortunately the Apoc BPO I bought 3 months ago probably is worth less now than it was before I did 3 months of ME research on it.
As for other trade secrets, well, you never know, I might get back into manufacturing at some point so I'd better not share.

I expected a kind of last-day feeding frenzy and mineral price crash. It never really materialized.
I also expected BPC suppliers to have enough sense to offer significant discounts the last few days instead of eating a bunch of now-almost-worthless inventory as they have instead chosen to do.

Is mining an exploit too? Because every miner benefited immensely from this. Post-patch you will see that only macro-miners and multi-boxers choose mining as a profession because there won't be any profit left.
If you have ever insured a ship in EVE, you took advantage of this 'exploit'. You paid less than fair value for something because of poor game design. The whole idea of insurance in this game is idiotic. T1 frigates, destroyers and cruisers okay, but that should be it.
The reason they took so long to 'fix' it is that the entire EVEconomy of which they're so proud depended on it.

I think the 300-500m in 1-3 hours is an exaggeration (or you found a really sweet spot to get your mins.) 30-40M ISK/hr was more typical. If everyone else was making over 100M ISK/hr I was definitely doing it wrong.
